EXPERIENCE SUMMARY
Management:
- Responsible for formulating strategy, cost estimates, manpower requirements, actions and decisions affecting cost, schedule and productivity for a $20M naval project.  Project manager for the complete refurbishment and certification of double hulled submarine rescue vessel.
- Managed work teams of up to 300 professional and skilled personnel at remote work sites to accomplish up to 20,000 man days of industrial intensive activities with budgets ranging from $9M to $IOM within 60 day timetables.
- Effectively applied managerial skills to control cost, meet schedules, maintain quality assurance standards, promote safety and manage a work force of skilled trades, quality assurance personnel and engineers of all disciplines.
- Extensive experience in coordinating with all levels of management, both internal and external.  Represented the Charleston Naval Shipyard and the Shipyard Commander to entities including: Naval Commands in Washington, D.C., Fleet Commands at various shore-based locations, and Ship's Commanding Officers, as well as various private sector contractors and vendors.
Engineering:
- Complied with quality assurance standards, and satisfactorily completed testing for a major ship conversion.  Responsible and accountable for all of the projects engineering decisions and coordination, including technical accuracy of mechanical, structural and electrical engineering refurbishment.
- Provided non-nuclear engineering coordination with Nuclear Engineers, Quality Assurance and Production
Department personnel.
- Establish and manage teams for Charleston Naval Shipyard environmental remediation tasks that include site surveys, assessments, and preparation of clean-up plans.
- Review remediation work plans and provide consultation for projects, and production managers, on compliance, contamination, hazardous waste issues.
- Review and recommend innovative and cost effective remediation actions and processes.
